Heavy Diesel Technician

Carbyne Mining is an expanding supplier of quality trade professionals for the Mining industry. We are a motivated team and take pride in our performance and ability to provide quality service to our clients.

 

We are seeking driven and dedicated people to join our growing team for immediate start.

 

The successful applicants will perform the following key tasks in the Bowen Basin area:

  • Service and maintain heavy vehicles including, but not limited to mining, earth-moving and auxiliary equipment

  • Demonstrate a high level of technical understanding to complete effective inspection, diagnostics and repairs to defective parts for diesel engines, transmissions, clutches, cooling systems, brakes, steering, batteries, fuel systems

  • Performing scheduled and preventative maintenance services such as oil and filter changes 

  • Contribute to safe and efficient work practices to ensure customer satisfaction in line with our company ethos

  • Use in-house operating systems to generate reports and accurately capture data as required

  • Ensure a high standard of quality and cleanliness throughout daily procedures

 

Skills and Experience:

Essential-

  • Minimum Cert III Trade qualifications as either a heavy diesel motor mechanic or equivalent

  • Heavy diesel vehicle experience

  • Valid Australian drivers licence (minimum P plates) or ability to obtain

  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team, in a mining industry setting

  • Highly developed communication skills to contribute effectively to a team and excellent customer service

  • Capability to problem solve and think outside the box

  • Possess a genuine willingness to learn new skills on the job

  • Commitment to safety protocols

Preferred-

  • Current mine site inductions and Coal Board Medical an advantage

  • Qualification in mobile plant technology highly regarded

  • Experience on hydraulic systems

  • Automotive Air Conditioning licence

  • Volvo OEM truck experience
